What does California require for a pool safety fence?
California's pool safety law requires an enclosure barrier at least 60 inches tall on the outside with no gaps a small child can pass through, and gates that are self-closing and self-latching with the release mechanism placed high enough to be out of a young child's reach. Requirements are enforced locally, so the city or county building department has final say on your specific installation.
